Below is a brief summary of offerings at the Colorado Springs Velodrome, Please see our event calendar for specific dates. Registration for events must be done through Bike Reg by following the links of the title for each program below. There is no day of registration for training sessions, classes or racing. All riders must hold an annual USA Cycling License or Purchase a One Day License.
YOUTH LEARN THE VELO p/b Kids On Bikes- Youth Learn the Velo Monday and Wednesday (Free)
Youth Learn the Velo sessions occur on the first Monday and Wednesday of the month and run from 5pm-6:30pm. In order to be a certified velodrome rider you MUST attend both Learn the Velo (LTV) sessions.
Riders must first be certified to ride on the velodrome by attending two LTV. These coached sessions introduce riders to the safety protocol and rules of the velodrome, at the end of the two-day session riders will be certified to ride on the velodrome and will then be allowed to attend Youth Open Training.
Kids on Bikes provides bikes to use for youth free. If you ride clipless, please bring your cleats and shoes. If you ride flats, shoe cages are provided. If you are unsure what you ride, just show up and our staff will get you setup!
YOUTH OPEN TRAINING p/b Kids On Bikes
Youth Open Training sessions occur on the first Monday and Wednesday of the month and run from 5pm-6:30pm. Any certified youth rider may sign up for these sessions.
All youth sessions are coached by Kids on Bikes employees, Olympian Maddie Godby and World-class athlete Clever Martinez. These sessions are intended to build foundational skills and comfort riding the velodrome. In addition to learning the basics, this program also introduces youth riders to racing. Kids on Bikes provides bikes to use for youth for free.
Registration for all sessions will open on the first of the month, every month prior.

ADULT LEARN THE VELO
Learn the Velo is a 2 day course, designed to get riders familiar with the safety protocol and rules of the velodrome. Upon completion of the class, pending approval of the coaching staff, riders will be granted an upgrade from Novice to Cat 4, and will be able to train in Open Track Sessions and Learn to Race Sessions. Rental Bikes as part of the class. Please contact Robert if you have any questions!
Adult Learn the Velo Tuesday and Thursday 4:00-6:00 ($40 for the entire class)
OPEN TRAINING SESSIONS Monthly Pass $100, Single Session $25
Open Training is Tuesday/Thursday and Occasional Fridays 6:00- 8:00pm
FRIDAY NIGHT RACE SERIES (Adults $30, Juniors $10)
That’s right! Friday Night Racing is Back! We’re offering an 12 race series! A mix of Bunch Racing, Sprints and Keirin throughout the spring and summer. Riders of all levels are welcome!
Friday Night Racing 6:00-9:00pm
(Please note the Building will be open at 5:00, but the track will not be open until 6:00pm for warm up when medical staff arrives, racing will start promptly at 6:30.)
THE RULES:
-Unsafe riding, equipment or behavior of any kind will not be tolerated
-Helmets must be worn at all times while riding
-All riders must have an Annual or One Day USA Cycling License
-All bikes must be fixed gear with no brakes
-All riders must obey instruction of Velodrome Program Staff
-All riders must communicate with their fellow track users and coaches
-Be Safe and Predictable
-Have fun!
